Volunteer with The Spring Gardens

The Spring Gardens depends on the active and ongoing  contribution of volunteer work to maintain and operate the Garden. Whether skilled carpentry work to build a shade structure, skilled horticulture knowledge to help design the common area planting, mowing the grass, weeding, composting – each is a highly valued, essential  contribution.

The Volunteer Committee is committed to partnering the talents and skills of our gardeners with the necessary work of building and maintaining the garden. Our gardeners must complete the 10 hour commitment required for membership in The Spring Gardens by helping with events, planting and maintaining public spaces, composting, fence painting, construction ,watering and many  other  tasks.

When you sign up for your plot and a committee each year, you  will be paired with the committee overseeing the work and your volunteer  time will be verified by the  chairperson  of that committee .

You can also join in our regular Saturday morning workdays or special work events. Please check the website calendar or notices on the Spring Garden North Street gate for regular work events.

The Spring Gardens should be a reflection of the commitment of its members to the neighborhood in which we are so fortunate to have this beautiful garden. It’s also a fun way to meet neighbors and be part of “growing our community”!
